The Manufacturing Process of Making Plastic Bags

Plastic bags are a part of our every day. From grocery shopping to receiving packaged shipments most of us are no stranger to using them. But what exactly goes into the process of creating all the different types of plastic bags for every application. Manufacturing a plastic bag has more involved than you might think. Knowing what is involved in the process can help you spot the products that are quality made versus the products that won’t hold up to quality testing.

Different companies tend to use different production methods depending on the steps involved in their manufacturing process. Apparently, not all bags are made to the same standards, but at Rutan Poly we take pride in providing you with a quality product that will help you achieve your goals as a company and supply you with nothing but the best and that starts with quality materials.

Quality Materials

Our flexible packaging solutions are made with the top of the line materials to ensure we can meet every specific need. Our quality products are made from polyethylene; most commonly – we use low-density. Here at Rutan Poly, we believe in delivering the best products with the best materials, so we’ve taken the time to learn the process of creating our own custom blend of polyethylene film which we extrude in-house, allowing for the greatest possible range of customization for our customers. This has helped us refine our process over time, and we never settle for “good enough.” We’re constantly learning and keeping up with industry standards to continue giving our clients the best products available.

Customization

Making our own bags in house not only cuts out the middleman, but it allows us to develop our processes over time ensuring we make the best products for our partners. Most of our bags are made from pellets of linear polyethylene resin, which are then blended into a homogenous material and then melted in a high temperature extruder, producing film at whatever length a customer may need. After it cools, the film is flattened, put onto rolls, and put on machines we have created to make bags with custom features which include handles, zippers, and customized printing. Bags are then cut and sealed, and each bag is made with precise programmed machinery, giving each bag the desired look requested by our partners. No matter what your needs are, we are able to provide options like UVI protection, non-slip surfaces, colors, customs printing, pin-hold ventilation, and much more!

A Bag for Any Purpose

As you know, not all bags are designed with the same purpose in mind. If you’re in the food industry, for example, you’ll need a bag that complies with the FDA packaging requirements. Rutan Poly makes sure to stay up-to-date on these kind of regulations so that your specific bag meets any and all requirements that you may not even be aware of yourself.

When transporting products, non-slip bags may be an option to consider for greater security when on pallets in moving vehicles. And these options are just the beginning of how we can customize for your industry.

At Rutan Poly, we want to put your mind at ease when it comes to your product’s packaging and bagging needs.
