Customizing Your Polyethylene Products

Polyethylene (PE), the most common type of plastic today, is what we use in our bags and films here at Rutan Poly Industries. While great on their own, you can further customize poly bags and products to suit your unique business needs. We offer many customizing options to enhance your branding, unique value proposition, and diverse product selection.

Here we will go over the different customization options at your fingertips when it comes to polyethylene products by Rutan Poly, as well as common applications of those customizations, industries that use our products, and custom branding options.

Common Industries Using Our Products

We have many clients to our credit who use our custom poly bags and poly films as a general rule of thumb. Our products appeal to the following common industries:

  1. Food and beverage
  2. Furniture
  3. Pharmaceutical
  4. Textiles
  5. Retail
  6. Appliance
  7. Healthcare
  8. Chemical
  9. Stationery
  10. Industrial
  11. Packaging

Now, we’ll give you some examples as to which clients need us for what products.

  • Bottom Seal Bags:
These are good for applications that hold heavy-weight materials, such as leak-resistant bag seals, drum liners, box liners and covers, trash bags, hardware, parts, and mulch. These bags are needed by anyone in the landscape, automotive, janitorial, hardware and food industries.
  • Header Poly Bags:
Featuring a separate, detached area of plastic at the top, these are perfect when you want to hang bags of hardware, auto parts, snacks and even pool supplies. Industries would include cafes, convenience stores, hardware stores, candy stores, automotive stores, and pool supply stores.
  • Poly Bags With Lip:
One side of these bags is longer than the other so they can be opened more easily. They can be used by clients who frequently store or use heavy duty bags that can’t split or fail in any way. Post offices can use mailer bags, police departments can use evidence bags, and banks can use night deposit bags.

Further Breaking it Down by Plastic Types

There are many types of PE, but the two main ones are HDPE and LDPE. Each one is suitable for different industries and needs.

  • High Density Polyethylene Plastic (HDPE):
HDPE is one of the most versatile plastic materials available, used in several different applications, such as plastic bottles, shampoo bottles, milk jugs, bleach bottles, piping, specialty bags, garbage bags, shopping bags, medical grade bags, and cutting boards.
  • Low Density Polyethylene Plastic (LDPE):
This is the most commonly used material in plastic bags, known for its strong, porous, stretchable nature, with excellent clarity and high tear resistance. This type of plastic bag is easy to print on, and ideal for packaging products without sharp points, and is ideal for heavy duty garbage bags, boutique retail carry bags, general purpose containers, compost and mulch bags, mail bags, and press seal bags. Our clients use these for good for producing shipping envelopes, garbage can liners, paneling, floor tile, furniture, film, compost bins, trash cans, outdoor lumber and landscape timber.
