Staple pack bags are a simple but highly effective packaging format used across industries where speed and convenience are essential. At Rutan Poly, we manufacture custom staple pack bags to fit your exact specs — size, gauge, header style, and printing — right here in our New Jersey facility.
Each bag is part of a collated stack, fastened with industrial staples at the top header. This lets workers quickly tear off one bag at a time, without fumbling with loose stacks or reloading dispensers too often. If you need fast, efficient hand-packing — this format delivers.
What Are Staple Pack Bags?
Staple packs are composed of individual flat poly bags grouped and stapled through the top edge. The result is a compact pad of bags that hangs easily on a bag stand, sits neatly on a bench, or fits into a drawer at a service counter.
Each bag is tearable from the header one at a time, reducing clutter and increasing packing speed.
They’re widely used in:
-
Food service (especially bakeries, delis, and produce markets)
-
Medical and lab settings (for small parts, kits, or specimens)
-
Industrial assembly lines
-
Retail operations (like hardware or small goods counters)
-
E-commerce and fulfillment (for inner packaging or parts separation)
Because the bags are organized and easy to access, they’re especially valuable in high-volume workflows where every second counts.
How They’re Constructed
We start by producing flat LDPE or LLDPE bags to your desired dimensions and gauge. These can be printed or left unprinted, in clear or tinted colors.
Once made, the bags are stacked in a pad—typically 100 to 250 per pack—and stapled across the top through a reinforced header section. This allows for durability while still making it easy to tear off individual bags without damaging the rest of the stack.
Header options can include:
-
Punched hang holes for wall or rack mounting
-
Notched corners for easier tearing
-
Printed headers for branding or instructions
-
Custom spacing between staples or alternate pack counts
The entire process is handled in-house at Rutan, which means faster production and tighter control over spec and quality.
Custom Options
We make each staple pack to order—nothing off-the-shelf. Options include:
-
Custom sizes (width, length, and gauge)
-
Clear, tinted, or opaque film
-
LDPE, LLDPE, or blended film options
-
Printed or unprinted
-
Packaging: loose in cartons, stacked in inner sleeves, or with tear-away backing
-
Optional gussets for added capacity
If your application has unique needs—such as lot code printing, anti-static properties, or UV resistance—we can incorporate those as well.
Who Uses Staple Packs?
These bags are especially popular in operations where packing is done by hand, but speed is still a priority. A few real-world examples:
-
A bakery prepping rolls or cookies in small batches—each bag can be pulled quickly and filled without losing time or requiring gloves to fuss with opening
-
A hardware store packaging small parts, nails, or fasteners—printed with part numbers or barcodes
-
A medical lab storing kits or disposables where sterility and organization matter
-
An assembly station in manufacturing, using bags to kit wires, screws, or electronic components
In all of these cases, staple pack bags keep workflows smooth and packaging consistent—and because the bags are manufactured to spec, they work seamlessly with the rest of the packing system.
